For an easy way to provide love and warmth to homeless children, knit squares for Love Squared
Love Squared is an amazing knitting charity with the goal of reaching out to homeless children. Since May 2011, founder Leah has invited knitters and crocheters to create blankets with her out of 8-inch squares.
Leah’s charity operates out of Michigan and currently donates afghans to The Family House, a homeless shelter, and That Neighborhood Church, a church serving Toledo’s poorest neighborhood. She has also begun to periodically send afghans to a charity that serves the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
Love Squared’s ultimate goal is to provide afghans to homeless children all over the country. They need your help to make this happen!
How You Can Help
No matter where in the United States you are, you can knit or crochet squares and send them to Love Squared. These squares are seamed by Leah and her helpers to create beautiful afghans that are then sent to The Family House.
If you live in southeastern Michigan or northwestern Ohio, you can drop squares off instead of shipping them. You may want to e-mail Leah at Info@love-squared.org for the latest in drop-off locations and shipping information.
Are you ready to help homeless children with love and the warmth of afghans? Then we encourage you to support the outstanding knitting charity of Love Squared!
