Find out the winning cover design for my upcoming eBook and the winning contest voter
Wow! Your response to my eBook cover voting contest was incredible! Altogether I received 142 votes. I am humbled and so very thankful!
In addition to your votes, I’m also very grateful for your comments. Your suggestions for ways in which these designs could be improved were quite helpful. They pushed my fairly limited graphic artistic talents to the maximum! But I wound up learning a thing or two, so that was definitely worth it.
Without further ado, here it is: your winner of the eBook cover contest!
… This is design #1! Those of you who voted seemed to enjoy both the color of the “paper” and the colors of the yarn.
I hope you can see that I took the most common suggestion to heart — that you’d prefer it without all of the boxes being checked off. That is what really tested my graphic design skills! All I can say about this is thank God for Microsoft Publisher. I don’t own Adobe Illustrator and probably never will! Since I have a subscription to Office 365, I use Publisher. Some of its capabilities would amaze you.
I also saw a few people suggest that they’d like to see the balls of yarn without that odd semi-transparent rectangular background. I took this one to heart too, mostly because I myself wasn’t crazy about that either. So I did some more research and discovered that I was able (again, thanks to Publisher) to create a transparent background. Et voila!
Now then, it’s time for the winner of this contest. I’m using the trusty Random.org, a random number generator, to draw a number from 1 to 144, i.e. the number of comments on the post. (This does include my own comments, so I’ll draw again if I get the number of one of my own comments, haha.)
And the winning number is… 37
And that number belongs to Jean Cline! Please send me an email at NHaschke@knittingforcharity.org so we can arrange the details of your free eBook copy.
Thank you, everyone, again for giving me your opinions and suggestions on the best cover design for my eBook. Remember to Like the Knitting for Charity Facebook page, because I’m planning more giveaways of the eBook on launch day, February 3!
