KNITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR BLANKET SQUARES
One of the easiest knitting instructions to follow involves making squares that are eventually collected and sewn together for the Warm Up America project. Warm Up America asks knitters to follow any knitting instructions they want, in order to knit a 7" x 9" square (or two)!
This gives you the opportunity to try out new knitting instructions if you want to practice a particular stitch or method, but it also means you can just do straight knitting stitches! Warm Up America doesn't care what knitting instructions you use -- they just want to help people in need be warm!
Sponsored by the Craft Yarn Council of America, Warm Up America Foundation has been 'wrapping people in warm blankets' since 1992. They've provided more than 80,000 afghans to victims of natural disasters, battered women's shelters, the homeless, and others less fortunate than ourselves.
