Wise Crackin', Needle Clackin' Knitting Humor
Today is "Witty Wednesday"...
You do not sew with a fork, and I see no reason why I should eat with knitting needles.
~Miss Piggy
To celebrate "Witty Wednesday," here is a look back at some of the daily life moments shared with us by the Yarn Harlot in her blog and books.
Her experiences speak to nearly all of us as we, across the miles, share the collective passion of pulling out our needles and yarn whenever we get the chance. Here are some of her more 'offbeat' comments and experiences:
She understands that by knowing the two stitches, knit and purl, you can rule the world.
Her cat has some sort of digestive issue. It seems there is a lot of cat puke mentioned.
When frustrated, a current project of interest sometimes ends up being flung across the room.
Just like us, pulling out rows of mis-stitching causes actual physical grief and pain. I suppose it might compare to cutting your baby boys curls off for the first time. We know it must be done, and we know it will avoid many years of identity crises for your son, but none the less, it is still a very sad moment.
When you find the most amazing yarn EVER in a small town home spun shop while traveling abroad, don't just get a few skeins. It won't be enough. No matter how carefully you plan.
Teenagers are an enigma that constantly challenge her sanity. And the absolute most fun thing that combines both fine parenting skills and the knitting passion: Embarrassing your teenagers in public. Next time, instead of waving and yelling like a mad woman when meeting your teenager in a public place, just sit quietly with your knitting in your lap. The beauty of her mortification is best achieved with the subtlety of your approach.
Along with her blog, the yarn harlot has six published books to take you through the ups and downs of the knitting obsession.

Joke of the Day:
Why don't crows spend all their time Knitting?
Answer: Because they're too busy crowchetting.
