The Linus Project: Love, Comfort and Security for Children in Need
Why more than 1,347,720 knit baby blanket patterns have been used for the Linus Project
Well, okay, there haven't actually been that many knit baby blanket PATTERNS, but there HAVE been that many knit baby blankets donated through this organization to children in all 50 states- an average of 350 a month!
KNIT BABY BLANKET PATTERNS FROM PROJECT LINUS
The knit baby blanket patterns that you can use to help Project Linus, an organization that was founded in 1995, can be found on their website. Project Linus is a non-profit organization that encourages crafters to knit blankets for children and babies who are critically ill, or otherwise, 'in need of a hug.'
You can use your own knit baby blanket patterns and ideas for Project Linus blankets, too. Any hand-made or hand-knit baby blanket patterns are welcome, and the blankets will be distributed to children of all ages who are in need.
ALL KNIT BABY BLANKET PATTERNS WELCOME
If you want to knit baby blanket patterns for Project Linus, you become a volunteer "blanketeer." You'll be asked to provide new, handmade, washable blankets of any size and any style, whenever or however often you can. All styles of blankets are welcome, including quilts, comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in 'child-friendly' colors.
So if you are a charity knitter, or you want to become one, Project Linus is a wonderful charity that needs your help. Pick out some knit baby blanket patterns -- either your own or from the links on the Project Linus site - and get busy knitting!
