Today is Frugal Friday...

There are many good things about starting a new year. One of those good things, especially for knitters, is that all the stores are clearing out. Whatever didn't sell during the holidays is now on sale.

This is a great time to hit up all the stores both locally and online. Check your local bookstores for discounted knitting books. Check your lys (local yarn store in knitter-speak) for yarn they're clearing out to get ready for new supplies.

While you're out checking local store sales, stop in and check your favorite thrift stores. January is the time when most people clean out and organize. This is the best time of the year to find huge stashes of yarn and knitting supplies that someone else decided they didn't want (imagine that!) Keep a close watch and you can stock up.

Don't forget to look online for yarn, knitting supplies, and knitting book sales. You'll be surprised at what you find. Check all your favorite yarn supply websites and see what kind of deals they're making.

After you get all stocked up with new treasures, check out today's patterns and articles for ideas for new projects.
