Sock Knitting Patterns for Spring and Summer
With spring on the way, don't abandon sock knitting patterns!
Every spring, I find new sock knitting patterns to try. That might seem strange -- as the weather warms up, who needs to knit socks? But if you love knitting socks as much as I do, you know it's not that weird after all. Besides, if you live in a cooler climate like me, you still wear socks for a month or two yet -- and it's nice if they bring you some bright spring colors.
With that in mind, here are some of my favorite knitted sock patterns this year.
1. Spring forward
These easy to make pretty and lacy socks contain beautiful ivy and leaves type motif. If you knit them in the soft pastel colors shown in the sample sock knitting pattern, wear them all spring long, especially at Easter!
2. Sunshine socks
This sock knitting pattern is perfect if you need something warm on your feet for a while yet, but you're sick of winter colors like brown and gray. This sock pattern uses brightly colored Merino wool creating a gorgeous springy sock... warm enough for any lingering winter in your neck of the woods.
3. Tiptoe through the tulips
This is probably my favorite of all of these socks knitting patterns. These unique, pretty, bright socks feature flowers on the heels. You won't ever want to wear shoes again because you'll be so busy showing off your handiwork.
4. Nasturtium anklets
Anything with a flowery name makes me think of spring, but this sock pattern calls for a loose knit and flower nicely around your ankles. Perfect for all summer long, whether you pair them with shorts or a pretty skirt -- or even just your jeans.
5. Silky drops
This sock knitting pattern uses silk and bamboo yarn to create a pretty, light, and very natural feeling result. The socks themselves are simple, but the heel has a nice pattern and the ankle features a delicate pattern of 'silky drops'.
Just because "spring is springing" doesn't mean it's time to put away your knitting needles. And with these sock knitting patterns, the thought won't even cross your mind.
