A Hidden Tragedy

There are many homeless children wandering the streets of Mongolia's capital city, desperately trying to stay warm while the temperature drops to -13 F (and colder)! Many organizations try to provide shelter and clothing for these children, but as always, they're still desperate for help.
The Lotus Children's Centre
The vast majority of the items donated to Magic Mittens and Mufflers for Mongolian Children go to the Lotus Children's Centre. An Australian kindergarten and yoga teacher founded the Lotus Children's Centre in an effort to get kids off the street. They educate, clothe, and feed the children, who live in "families" of ten with a den mother.
The Children's Centre operates on a low budget. Because they want to encourage the children to maintain a realistic attitude, housing is similar to what many of the children will be able to afford as adults. Magic Mittens and Mufflers for Mongolian Children helps this effort by providing a basic but important need: the tools to keep warm in winter!
