Knitting Instructions for a Complete Easter Basket
Free knitting instructions for Easter baskets, bunnies and ducks. You won't even miss the chocolate
Instead of buying yet another Easter basket, or finding last year's in the mess in the attic, why not try these knitting instructions to make your own basket? While you're at it, try your hand at knitting these adorable bunnies, ducklings, and eggs to put inside -- filler to enjoy long after eating the Peeps.
Kids outgrow their themed Easter baskets quickly--your son may have loved the Cars movie the last two years, but now it's Pokemon and Star Wars. And who wants to keep buying new baskets every few years? Ditch the theme and hand knit this basket using his favorite colors instead. You may want to knit more than one to fit all of these cuddly bunnies, ducklings and eggs.
This little guy will sit properly in the basket--and nobody can eat off his ears! If you prefer brown, gray, or even pink bunnies, you can easily change the yarn color. You can also spruce him up in his Easter finest by using a fancier ribbon and more ornate buttons or beads.
These baby-soft, sweet little ducklings will be a fun surprise in the Easter basket. Once you master the knitting pattern, you can also use them to decorate baby gifts for expectant mother. Or even add a pile of them to the décor in a duck-themed bathroom. If you prefer the more traditional baby chick, follow the alternative directions at the end of the knitting pattern.
These eggs rival the dyed kind in beauty and variety, but you won't have to throw them out after a few days. Best of all, you can use yarn you have left from other projects to alternate the colors and patterns. Decide beforehand whether you'll be stuffing the eggs with polyfil or fitting them over Styrofoam egg shapes. After Easter is over, you can gather the eggs in a bowl as a centerpiece and even use them in a mess-free race of egg-on-a-spoon!
I'm sure none of us can imagine a true Easter basket without at least one chocolate bunny in it, so make sure you complete this with your favorite Easter candy. After all, there really are no knitting instructions that can truly replace chocolate!
