Knitting for Charity? Use a Free Knitting Pattern
There's a free knitting pattern for every project
There is a free knitting pattern for any charity knitting project you can imagine! If you are kind and generous enough to be knitting for charity, make sure you use a free knitting pattern -- you need never pay for a pattern again.
FIND A FREE KNITTING PATTERN
One of the places you can find a free knitting pattern is at your local library. Most libraries have a huge knitting section, with lots of books full of free knitting patterns, and you can generally borrow them for up to 3 weeks at a time.
Another place you would have access to a free knitting pattern for almost any charity project is your local knitters guild. Most cities have them, and there are often smaller knitting clubs or associations in smaller communities, too. Once you are a member of a knitter's guild, you can help yourself to a free knitting pattern of any kind - they often have hundreds to choose from!
You might also want to check with the organization you're doing the charity knitting for - for example, Warm Up America has a free knitting pattern for every possible way you can knit blankets for them, and so does Project Linus. Most organizations that encourage and accept charity knitting will have either a template or a free knitting pattern to help you knit for them.
FIND A FREE KNITTING PATTERN ONLINE
You can search online for a free knitting pattern for ANYTHING you would ever want to knit - and then some! :-) There is even a web-ring of websites that have free knitting patterns available either on their site, or as a download. There are almost 200 active websites on that list, so you are sure to find a free knitting pattern for hats, scarfs, blankets or any other charity project you're involved in.
Have fun checking for a free knitting pattern - or several!
