Knitting Blogs - the Hottest Addition to the Knitting Community
Looking for knitting inspiration? Read knitting blogs!
Knitting blogs are without a doubt the hottest new addition to the online knitting community. I just did a count of the ones I KNOW of, and there were nearly one thousand knitting blogs!
WHY KNITTING BLOGS?
What on earth are knitting blogs, you say? Well a 'blog' is a WEB LOG, which is kind of like a diary, only it's online, and not nearly as boring. :-) Lots of knitters have started online knitting blogs as a way of communicating what they're knitting, sharing patterns, asking for help, or just generally wanting to contribute to the whole current knitting phenomenon.
READ KNITTING BLOGS
If you are ever looking for inspiration, or just feel like you want to 'connect' with other knitters, the best thing you can do is read knitting blogs!
Many knitters have started knitting blogs as a way to keep themselves committed (because they have to 'fess up' what they're up to!) or to simply keep track of their knitting projects in a more interesting way than a notebook.
With knitting blogs with names like 'The Needle and the Damage Done,' 'Sheepless in Suburbia,' 'Wicked Stitches' and 'Knitigator,' you're in for some great entertainment, at the very least. And you'll probably find inspiration, help with knitting problems, free patterns, and, of course, lots of photos of knitted goods.
START YOUR OWN KNITTING BLOG
Knitting blogs can be started by any knitter, any time! If you are interested in knitting blogs, look into the various available blog software (most of it is free), and get started! If you want to join the knitting blogs web-ring at some point, you need to know the rules:
- you must have a knitting blog, where you talk about knitting
- you must post to your blog at least once a week
- knitting blogs must be written in English, and
- knitting blogs must be one month old to apply for membership in the knitting blogs web ring
Have fun with knitting blogs!
