Knit Out of Your Comfort Zone and Have Fun
Today is Fun Friday...
Too many times we stay in our comfort zone. That's okay. It's safe there. But... if you never take a chance, never step out of your comfort zone and try new things, you might be... well... a little on the boring side. ;-)
Personally, I tend to stay in my comfort zone and yes, I'm a little on the boring side. But, every once in a while, I try to branch out - try something new.
The same goes for knitting. If you keep knitting those same 'safe' patterns over and over, you become the 'b' word (boring). So today, I want to you try something new, something just for fun - try some new knitting stitches.
Yes, you'll make some mistakes. But, over time, you'll conquer your fear of trying new stitches; you'll learn some new favorites along the way. You'll surprise even yourself at how wonderful and interesting your knitting (and you) have become.

Today's Featured Website: GarnStudio.com
GarnStudio.com is one of my favorite websites. Written in just about every language you can think of, it's a little bit different to navigate. But once you get the hang of this site, it's wonderful.
A variety of designers are constantly contributing new and free patterns to the site. They're gorgeous. If you're a new knitter, you might find this site a little intimidating, as the instructions are a bit more difficult to follow. Just take your time. Browse around and drool over the gorgeous patterns.
A favorite section of mine is the pattern library. You can choose from cable patterns and lace patterns. In the lace section, they give you 85 lace stitch patterns. In the cables section, they give you 92 patterns. Not only do you get a good close-up view of the stitch, you get instructions, sometimes videos, and then a pattern to use the new stitch.
I can't think of a better way to branch out and try new knitting stitches. Plus, you'll avoid the 'b' word.
