Newborns in Need

What can you say about this wonderful charity? Founded in Houston, Missouri in1992 by Carol Green, this charity has grown by leaps and bounds.

Carol wanted to change the world and she decided to start with the smallest victims giving basic necessities to infants and their families. Whether the babies are sick and in ICU, or are from poor families unable to provide for the baby, Newborns in Need (NIN) reaches out and helps.

NIN has now grown to 62 chapters in all 50 states and in 2009, they donated 493,207 items to needy babies and their families.

Why don't you check out their website and help by knitting afghans, caps, booties and layettes?

Today's Featured Tip:

When knitting for babies, don't use techniques like 'loopy' knitting. Babies little fingers get caught in the loops.

Attach buttons to baby cardigans with dental floss instead of yarn or thread. The floss is strong enough that babies can't break it.
