How to Make Your Very Own Knitting Blogs

very own!

I've always loved knitting blogs. They're great ways to connect with fellow knitters, learn new tips, and find interesting pattern ideas. The best blogs are the ones that teach you something in a fun and engaging way. That's what I try to make my blog, and I hope you all get something out of it.

But what if you're just not satisfied with the knitting blogs available? Fortunately, there's a simple solution: you can make your own! It's easy, straightforward, and very rewarding. Even the techno novice can create a knitting blog to remember -- with, of course, a little help from yours truly.

Step One: Get a Blog

These days, getting a free blog is as easy as signing up for an email account. The two most popular free blogging services are:

-Wordpress
-Blogger

Either of these sites will let you easily sign up for a free account. Better still, they won't pester you for anything in the future, and they have strong support centers. Wordpress in particular is very good about blocking spam comments.

Step Two: Scout the Competition

Actually, the more knitting blogs the merrier. But it's a good idea to check out some of the best knitting blogs already running to see what keeps people coming back for more.

Step Three: Post regularly

Decide how often you're going to commit to your blog. Once a week? Twice? Every day? Once a month? When people know what to expect, they'll check your blog regularly. If they don't -- if you post six times one week and then don't post for a month -- they'll get bored and lose interest.

Remember, successful knitting blogs are current and frequently updated. Three short posts a week is probably better than one long one.

Step Four: Keep With It

You'll probably start off in a burst of enthusiasm that will begin to wane after a few weeks. All those topics you were so excited about are up on the blog, and you're running out of ideas. Don't get discouraged! Look for things to write about:

-your favorite patterns
-cool tips and tricks
-showcasing your work (or someone else's)
-your favorite charity

If worst comes to worst, write about knitting and how it affects your life. The best knitting blogs have a personal touch.

So get your blog out there. It's time to join the horde of knitting blogs and make your presence known!
