Help the Kentucky Bluegrass State Knit for Charity
Knit for charity and help others in Kentucky
You just never know whom you help when you knit for charity. Such is the case when you join knitting charities in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. Browse these helpful charities from this great state and see which one you can help.
Stitch for a Cause
Stitch for a Cause is a fitting name for this knitting charity, because let me tell you; they support a lot of causes. They knit and donate to the Infant Resource Project, Home of the Innocents and these organizations:
The Kentucky Humane Society - The group donates pet beds and pet-ghans to help calm scared dogs and cats brought into the shelter. The donations make the animals happy and when they remain happy pets, they find home sooner.
The Center for Women and Families - Stitch for a Cause donated 111 gift bags with a handmade scarf and travel-sized toiletry items to the ladies at this shelter for abused women and children.
Knit One-Save One - 900 preemie caps knit and donated to babies in third-world countries.
This group loves knitting for charity and it shows. Made up of students from the Kentucky Country Day School, parents, and staff, they stay busy, busy, busy always raising money and completing projects for these organizations.
If you would like to help, contact Lisa Stringfellow. They happily accept any donations of blankets, infant clothing, hats, mittens, scarves, and preemie caps. Send the donations to:

If you prefer to knit other items, they collect them for their yearly raffle to raise money to support the rescue efforts of the group. For more information, contact Jennifer Waldeck.
