No one likes to see sick children and babies -- especially these Arkansas knitting charities. These organizations have opened their hearts and donated their knitting skills to help comfort and show love and concern to these littlest of angels. Won't you join them?
River Valley Arkansas Chapter -- Newborns in need
Arkansas knitting charities are next in our installment of knitting for charity by state. If you like to knit for newborns, you'll love charity knitting for Newborns in Need. This non-profit organize provides bedding and clothing to newborn sick and needy babies. The organization donates to hospitals, medical centers, and crisis centers.
All the items donated to needy babies is supplied free of charge. The organization could use hats, booties, blankets, and afghans. Please remember when knitting these items to use the softest yarns possible as they are for little babies.
Newborns in need
Newborns in Need has chapters all across America, so if you don't live in Arkansas, check your state to see if there is a chapter near you. Knitting charities help make a difference when they Knit for Noggins. This charity, founded by the Arkansas Children's Hospital, has the sole purpose of making a difference in the lives of their patients. Through the generosity of knitters, they give their patients hand-knit caps that brighten their day and give them comfort.
They are especially in need of large hats for school-age children and adults. They ask that the hats be approximately the size of an average cantaloupe or larger. Here are more specific knitting instructions.
If you live near the hospital, you can deliver your hats. If you not, you can easily mail your hats to the hospital or one of the knitting charities that support the program and they will deliver your hats for you. Here are several for you to choose from:
