Fun, Free Knitting Patterns

Add some fun to your knitting -- Try these free knitting patterns

Has your knitting taken on a serious note? If so, add some fun back in with these silly and fun, free knitting patterns. If those cables on your cardigan have you confused, if your entarsia has you entangled, or your Fair Isles is driving your "fairly" crazy, put them aside and just knit something silly.

Get fruity!

If you're looking for something to keep your hands busy and that might actually have a use as a baby toy, try this lemon/lime pattern. Shaped just like a lemon and lime and you can give them faces or knit enough to fill up a fruit basket for your table.

Also check out the free patterns for knitting like the Georgia Peach, Lulu Banana, Mr. Pear, and Mrs. Apple on the same site. These are really cute and definitely not serious.

Feeling alienated by your knitting?

Well...take a break and knit an alien with this free easy knitting pattern. This little guy is too cute. If you don't feel like an alien today, try a Kiwi bird -- he's equally cute.

This site has lots of other fun and carefree patterns on it, but several you need to pay a small amount for. I have to admit though, they are so cute, I wouldn't mind. Check out the "bubble bath", rain cloud, and the knitted coke bottle. Fun!

Be an egghead

Here's a site with some fun egg-people patterns that are free. You can make these just for fun or knit up a collection for Easter time.

Feeling seasonally silly

If you want your free knitting time to take on a seasonal purpose, try using a free knitting pattern that relates to each season. At this site find a free ghost pattern, a pumpkin bag, and a Halloween boa.

For Christmas you can find knit candy ornaments, or miniature Christmas stockings.

So if you've found yourself in a bind with your knitting, put the fun back into it with these patterns. There are so many free knitting patterns on the Internet, have fun and relax for free.
