Five clever and unique free knitting patterns for bags of all types!
Part of the joy of free knitting patterns is how you can always try something new. After all, when you pay for a pattern, you (or at least I) feel obligated to make something out of it. When it comes to free knitting patterns, on the other hand, I feel free to stockpile and horde them until one day I think, "Hey, what about that scarf, bag, or pair of mittens I saw last year?"
Every now and then, though, you have to rifle through your assortment of free knitting patterns -- like cleaning out the back of your closet -- and decide which ones you'll use, which you won't, and which you can't believe you haven't tried before now. The other day I started thinking about knit purses and bags. Lo and behold, I have a pile of them in a folder marked "free knitting patterns" on my desktop.
So to make a long story short, not only did I find a heap of great bag and purse knitting patterns, I decided to share the best ones with you!
I love this little purse -- it reminds me of the super-trendy stuff my daughter pays big bucks for at the mall (and also of the hippie days, by some strange coincidence). Whether you're a Woodstock wannabe, a trendy teen, or just someone who wants something cute to hold a wallet and a phone, this bag will definitely make you smile.
These are, quite simply, the cutest bags I've ever seen in my life. I found them when I was searching for free knitting patterns to make a gift for my goddaughter and I wound up making one for myself, too! These are perfect for kids -- and those of us who are kids at heart.
3. Itsybitsy and Kitchen Sink Bags
The name says it all -- whether you want something teensy tiny to stash away a few stray items or a bag that'll hold all your worldly possessions, one of these free knitting patterns is bound to fit your needs.
4. Deco Ribbon Cell Phone Bags
On the other side of the spectrum from the Kitchen Sink Bag, we have these tiny cell bags -- big enough to hold your cell phone and not much else. I'm not sure who would carry one on their own but I made the little orange one and stuck it on my purse strap -- it's awfully nice not to have to dig for my phone every time it rings!
I can't resist free knitting patterns that serve a purpose -- such as this cute little number, which I took at its word (it says cosmetics, after all) and turned into a makeup bag to gather up all my spare lipstick and mascara.
Have fun bagging these free knitting patterns!
