Feeling a Little Odd? Join the Oddball Knitting Charity

Discover what's so odd about this knitting charity

If you like to do things a little differently, you'll love joining this oddball knitting charity. No, the great ladies that started this charity aren't odd; they simply came up with a cool concept for giving back to others. Check out their charity. Then join them or use their idea to start your own group of oddballs.

Just a bunch of "Oddballs"

If you've been a knitter for any length of time, you've probably heard of the fun online knitting community, Ralvery. One of the many things you can do at Ralvery is join groups with different interests and of course, my favorite is the groups that knit for charity.

The group I want to tell you about today is the Oddball Knitters. The neat concept of this group is each member knits 4" of a project and then mails it to the next member, with needles still attached. The next member knits her 4" and so on until the project is complete.

Ralvery member 'Shandeh' in North Carolina gets the credit for this great charity idea. Soon it caught on; they earned their very own forum on Ralvery and now have over 200 knitters involved in projects all over the United States.

So far, The Oddball Charity Knitters have knit hundreds of baby blankets, 20 shawls, 3 lapghans, 5 full-size blankets, and have now added Oddball Pet Snuggles for animal shelters.

If you would like to join in the fun or start your own group, follow the instructions and their knitting patterns for charity at their site. While you're there, take a look at some of the beautiful blankets they knit and donated to charities.

Sound like fun? I think so. Why not visit this group and see what they're all about. Then give them and their knitting charity a helping hand.
