Click for a Cure to Breast Cancer With These Dedicated Women!

Know someone affected by cancer? Join Click for a Cure and help make a difference!

The women who make up Click for a Cure all know the sting of cancer. They are volunteers in Florida and beyond determined to share their love and kindness with cancer victims, especially those with breast cancer. It's a great opportunity for women to bond and help each other, regardless of nation, age, race, or borders.

Standing Out From the Crowd

There are many knitting charities focused on cancer, so what makes Click for a Cure different? Well, their product, for one. While most cancer based knitting charities focus on practical items -- cozy afghans, practical chemo caps, and the like -- Click for a Cure knows that just because you have cancer doesn't mean you stop appreciating life's beauty. They aim to provide beautiful, delicate scarves and shrugs to women suffering from breast cancer. And of course, they turn out their share of chemo caps, too.

But most of Click for a Cure's high-fashion products wind up for sale. All of the proceeds then go toward breast cancer research and treatment. This way, these talented women provide a loving hug to those in need while simultaneously offering much-needed funds for research across the nation!

Donations, Donations!

Click for a Cure requires and receives many donations, especially in finished products and fancy yarns. They accept just about anything you want to give, though: yarns unsuitable for finished products wind up becoming caps for preemie babies, or afghans for the homeless. As you can see, Click for a Cure doesn't limit their focus! While their main goal is eliminating breast cancer and bringing comfort to cancer patients, they're more than happy to lend a hand wherever they can.

Recently, Click for a Cure linked up with the Mayte Prida Foundation, a charitable group aimed at helping women and their families with breast cancer. You can visit their website at www.maytepridafoundation.org. It's all in Spanish, of course, but if you happen to be bilingual, you might check it out.

If you're an anglophile with a desire to help, contact Click for a Cure directly! Joan Reitsma, the chapter president, will be happy to hear from you by email: jlreitsma@aol.com

Otherwise, you might try taking a page from their book and making something beautiful for someone in need. Sure, a chemo cap might be more practical, but getting sick doesn't make you immune to life's beauty. Click for a Cure reminds us that an emotional lift can be just as important as physical healing.
