The Humble Stitch Project Warms Hundreds of Homeless

The Humble Stitch Project is another wonderful grassroots knitting charity. Its members are everyday people with families, day jobs, and obligations who nonetheless make time for charity knitting because they know how much a humble stitch matters.

Like so many amazing charity knit groups, The Humble Stitch Project isn't content to sit still, but insists on surging forward. Last year they helped 233 homeless people not only to stay warm, but to feel the warmth of a caring hand. This year, they hope to more than double that number and help over 500 people.

Everyone Deserves a Smile From Charity Knitting

Everyone Deserves a Smile is a Vancouver based knitting charity built upon the simple idea that kindness grows. It calls itself a grassroots knitting charity and welcomes knitters of any age or description, as well as non-knitters who just want to help out.

The program started with the desire to share smiles during the Christmas season. Like most large cities, Vancouver has its fair share of homeless individuals, and it can be hard to bring a smile to the face of those making up society's less fortunate.
