How to Form a Charity Knitting Group

Getting lonely with your charity knitting? Sure that you could do so much more if you could convince some friends to help? There's an easy solution: form a charity knitting group. With just a small bit of effort, you can create a very special knitting circle where all of the members knit with a focus.

Knitting with others keeps you focused on the task at hand. It's fun, and it provides great opportunities to learn from one another. If you've never been a member of a knitting circle, then charity knitting groups are great places to start.

Knitting Stitches to Liven Up Your Craft

I love learning new knitting stitches almost as much as I love finding new knitting patterns. There's always a way to work different knitting stitches into the patterns I know and love, or to make up my own afghan or sweater with particularly fun stitches. To me, it's just so amazing that you can loop yarn in a slightly different way and get all these cool, funky patterns as a result.

New Knitting Stitches to Master

You can never get enough knitting stitches. Sometimes I like to learn something new, but more often reviewing knitting stitches reminds me of something I saw a long time ago, made a mental note to try, and promptly forgot. Anyone know the feeling?

Regardless, doing the same knit stitches over and over can get pretty boring pretty fast -- and your work will all look the same, too. Who needs that? Try out some new knitting stitch patterns and liven up everything from washcloths to afghans.

More Free Knitting Patterns for Spring

It's time for free knitting patterns for spring. That's right: with warmer weather finally here, I'm in the mood for knitting. Some people might think that's crazy, but if you've seen the many easy knitting patterns for spring and summer crafting, you'll know I'm not alone in my obsession.

I knit right through the year, and I know many other people do, too. If you're just starting out, though, you might not know what to knit during warmer months (what... you don't want to knit a heavy wool afghan in August?). Fortunately, there are many fantastic knit pattern styles you can use all spring and summer long.

Throw Your Heart into Handmade Especially for You

Handmade Especially For You: words we all love to hear. If you're a knitter, they're probably words you've uttered many times, and seen the smiles that come in response. But what if you'd never received a single gift in your life? What if, not only had no one cared to handmake you a present, no one had cared enough to give you one at all?

Shelters for abused women often house exactly that kind of person. They are some of the women who most benefit from charity knitting. They aren't necessarily physically in need, but they certainly require the emotional support of knowing someone cares about them. And the added allure of a handmade gift makes all the difference in the world.
