100 Hats -- 100 Patterns -- Fun Inspiration for Charity Knitting
Do you like the idea of charity knitting but need some inspiration? Here's some
Do you love charity knitting? I do and I love to find new charities for donations to keep my interest up and keep me churning out knitting projects for people in need. I know there are many other knitters just like me.
Meet Robyn. She loves knitting for charities too, but felt her efforts were too scattered. She wanted to concentrate her love for knitting and helping others to one project. She felt this would give her a feeling of accomplishment and help inspire her production. The project she came up with is not only giving Robyn inspiration but inspires many other charity knitters as well.
100 Hats - 100 Patterns - 1 Girl - 1 Year
This is Robyn's slogan and what she aspires to accomplish in just one year. So far, so good -- she is on track. Robyn is passionate about knitting for charity but wanted to concentrate her knitting to one project. She chose Land's Ends project "Warm Woolies."
Being the fellow charity knitter that I know you are, you may be familiar with Warm Woolies. If you're not, this project sponsored by Land's End has volunteers who knit warm clothing for poverty-stricken children. The wool sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks are donated to orphanages in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Reservation throughout the Northern United States.
Robyn knits or crochets 100 hats using 100 different patterns and donates them to Warm Woolies in just one year. I think this is a wonderful story and such an inspiration to knitters everywhere.
Why don't you join her? Challenge yourself and start your own project. If your knitting expertise is mittens, sweaters, or hats -- go for it. Set a goal and see how many needy children you help when you knit for charity.
